Your Display Name is your public handle on Gameflip. It appears on your profile, store page, and listings. It is entirely separate and different from the first and last names you add to your account for identity verification (KYC). It also forms part of your store’s unique URL, so choose carefully.
Important Display Name Rules
- 7-Day Cooldown: Changing your display name triggers an automatic 7-day restriction before another change is allowed. Gameflip Support cannot bypass or shorten this cooldown.
- Default Name Format: Unconfigured profiles automatically display a name generated from your first name and last initial (e.g., "Alex S.").
- Impersonation Policy: Choosing a name that mimics staff or another seller violates Gameflip's Code of Conduct and can lead to account suspension.
Step-by-Step Instructions: Changing Your Display Name
On the Website or Mobile Browser
- Sign in to your account.
- Click your Profile Picture in the top-right corner.
- Go to Menu > Settings > Account.
- Under Public Profile, below your Avatar, find the Display As field.
- If you see a pencil icon, click it, type your new display name, and then click the green checkmark to save.
On the Gameflip App (iOS/Android)
- Tap the menu icon (☰) and tap your Profile Picture.
- Tap the white pen-and-paper icon at the top right corner next to Profile.
- Enter your new name in the Display As field and tap Update.
