When buying an item on Gameflip, sellers must send the listed item within the assigned delivery time in the field Seller sends in, otherwise you will be entitled to cancel that transaction 12 hours after that period is over.
After the seller marks an exchange as shipped* you will be no longer able to cancel the transaction and you will be notified about it. A shipping confirmation email (Gameflip: "Seller" has shipped your "item") will be sent to your verified email address and a shipment notification will be sent to your Notification Box. Gameflip App users will be notified through a push notification as well.
Please be wary of "Asking to rate first" scams whenever a seller asks you to complete the transaction and leave them a rating before delivering you the listed item.
*Marking an item as shipped without delivering the item is a violation of our Code of Conduct. Under any circumstances, if the seller did not deliver the item and marked the exchange as shipped, you must immediately report them, place a hold on the transaction, and contact Gameflip Support.
When a purchase is automatically completed by Gameflip?
The exchange autocompletion feature was created by Gameflip so the funds of an exchange are not left in Gameflip's escrow indefinitely if the buyer does not manually complete the exchange. Sellers only receive the funds of a sale when the purchase is complete.
To establish a fair amount of time for buyers to inspect the delivered item, Gameflip designed the autocompletion countdown to expire only 3 days (72 hours) after the exchange is marked as shipped,
As soon as the seller marks the exchange as shipped, the message "Item has been sent" will be displayed on the exchange page, and a 3-day exchange autocompletion countdown will start in the section Review & Complete transaction after the text "Must complete or hold transaction by".
Whenever the autocompletion countdown expires, the system will automatically complete the exchange, therefore, if any issues arise on the transaction, you must place a hold on the transaction so the countdown is stopped.
Once completed, all purchases are final on Gameflip and there are no refunds unless the delivered item is either not working or it is different from what was described. The Gameflip Guarantee does not extend to cases in which the purchase was mistakenly completed, either by you having clicked the Complete Transaction button, or the system autocompleting the transaction.
Therefore, this is of utmost importance that you check the conditions of the delivered item and be wary of any notifications and emails regarding your purchase.
What should I do after placing a hold on a transaction?
After the transaction is held, the seller has 5 days to respond to your claim, otherwise, the purchase is automatically canceled by the system.
As soon as they reply to your dispute, you will receive a notification, and a 5-day autocompletion countdown will start.
In this timeframe, you must try to come up with a solution along with the seller. If you are unable to solve the issue, proceed to escalate the dispute.
When a dispute is escalated, there will be no more countdowns in the exchange and Gameflip Support will start an investigation on the exchange. If necessary, we will contact you through your verified email address for more information.
