How to activate Steam Game Code/Gift Card

Redeeming a Steam game code or gift card is quick and easy. Follow the instructions below depending on whether you’re redeeming a game key or a Steam Wallet code.

To Activate a Steam Game Code

1. Open Steam and log in to your existing account.

2. From the top menu, click on Games, then choose Activate a Product on Steam.

   

3. Enter the 25-character activation code exactly as it appears (letters and numbers only, no spaces).

   

4. After entering your code, click Confirm. Steam will verify your code and add the game to your Library.

   

5. Once the game appears in your Steam Library, click on it and choose Install to begin downloading. When the installation finishes, the game will be ready to play.

   

To Redeem a Steam Wallet Code

If your code is a Steam Wallet card (used to add funds to your account balance), follow these steps:

1. Launch the Steam client and sign in to your account.

2. From the top menu, click on Games, then select Redeem a Steam Wallet Code.

   

3. On the next screen, type in your Steam Wallet code and click Continue.

   

4. Once successfully redeemed, the value of the code will be added to your Steam Wallet balance, which you can use to purchase games, downloadable content, or in-game items.

   

Additional Tips

• Check your region: Some codes are region-locked and can only be redeemed in specific countries.
• Double-check your code: If you receive an “Invalid Code” error, ensure that you entered it correctly and that the code hasn’t already been used.
• Redeeming on the web: You can also redeem codes by visiting store.steampowered.com/account/registerkey.
• Steam Wallet balance: To view your available funds, go to the Steam menu > Account Details > Store & Purchase History.
