You qualify for a refund only if the item delivered is not working or different from what was described, and the purchase hasn’t been completed yet. In that case, you’re covered by the Gameflip Buyer Guarantee. Never complete the transaction or let the 3-day auto-completion time expire if there’s a problem, as doing so voids the guarantee.
Conditions for Cancelling a Purchase:
- Immediately After Ordering: You can cancel within the first 1-2 minutes while the order is being processed.
- Order Under Review: You may cancel during a security review (though this could affect future reviews).
- Delayed Delivery: If the seller doesn’t ship/send the item within the stated delivery time plus a 12-hour grace period.
- Before Marked as Shipped: If the seller hasn’t marked the item as shipped, you can request cancellation.
- Violating Guidelines: If the item is prohibited or if the seller breaks Gameflip Guidelines, don’t accept delivery—open a dispute.
Conditions for Refunding a Delivered Item
After an item is delivered or marked as shipped, you’re still eligible for a refund under the Buyer Guarantee if:
- The item doesn’t match the description
- The item doesn’t work as expected
- The item was never delivered
To proceed with the refund:
- Contact the seller and explain the issue and how you’d like to resolve it.
- Open a dispute by clicking “I have an issue with the item I received” on the listing.
- This pauses the 3-day auto-completion timer and gives Gameflip time to review. If we need more information, we’ll email you. Once we verify your claim, we’ll authorize a refund.
Completed Transaction Refunds (Exception)
In rare cases, items that have been revoked by the developer may still be eligible for refunds after completion. Contact Gameflip Support to open a case and request a refund. If you face issues after completion, try contacting the seller first; if you can’t reach an agreement, escalate the matter to Support.
When You Are Not Eligible for Refunds
You can’t get a refund if:
- You’ve already completed the transaction and accepted the item
- You’re requesting a refund for reasons outside of defect, misdescription, or non-delivery (like regret)
- The item was damaged during shipping when you arranged it yourself
- The item was delivered via bot trade (escrowed)—these are guaranteed to match the listing
The transaction occurred outside of Gameflip, which violates our Terms of Use.
