Upon canceling or rescinding your transaction, our system initiates the cancellation process instantly and the funds are sent back to your payment source. However, the time it takes for the cancellation to be processed and refunded depends entirely on how each specific payment processor handles the funds reverted from Gameflip, taking up to 14 business days. Specifically, refunds to prepaid cards may require additional time; if you have concerns about a prepaid card refund, we recommend contacting the card issuer for more information.
The 14 business days timeframe is given by the expiration time of the charge's payment authorization period. During this time, card charges may show as "Authorizing" or "Pending" on your bank statement. Typically, on a canceled transaction, the original charge will be removed from your statement, rather than showing a separate refund entry. On the other hand, on rescinded transactions, you may find a refund activity in your statement.
Keep in mind that the funds used on a canceled transaction will always return to their original source, therefore, it is not possible to revert the funds of a purchase paid with a credit card to your Gameflip wallet, for example.
Below you will find how the funds are reverted depending on the used payment source:
- Credit/Debit Card: Refunds may be issued directly back to your card, or the original charge may disappear from your statement.
- Alipay/WeChat Pay: Refunds will be credited back to your respective account.
- Gameflip Cash Balance (Sale Proceeds or Add Funds): Any funds used from your Cash Balance will be returned immediately upon cancellation.
- Gameflip Credits Balance: Similarly, any credits used will be credited back to your Credits Balance right away.
