Maintaining Community Safety: Understanding Prohibited Activities, Items and Services on Gameflip

At Gameflip, we take our commitment to ensuring the safety of our community and adhering to legal restrictions very seriously. As a result, there are specific items, services, and behaviors that are restricted or outright banned on our platform.

Any seller found listing prohibited items or services, or engaging in unacceptable behavior, will be in breach of our Terms of Use. This applies regardless of the seller's intent. Should Gameflip identify a listing that violates our guidelines or deems it inappropriate, we reserve the right to take various actions. These can include removing the listing, canceling any associated transactions, and, in severe cases, terminating or suspending the seller's account.

Gameflip prohibits use in association with any products, services, transactions, or activities that are broadly fraudulent, deceptive, or in violation of any laws or governmental regulations.

We periodically update the list of prohibited items, services, and conduct to reflect our evolving standards and to provide clearer guidance to our community. This includes expanding examples under certain categories to enhance understanding and communication.

Gameflip may not be used to sell any of the following products or services.

Illegal items or services

Anything illegal or prohibited by local laws cannot be listed, including but not limited to the following:

• Drugs, including illegal or narcotic drugs, prescription medicines, or behind-the-counter drugs.
• Food, food supplements, vitamins, diet products, or items that offer miracle cures such as “anti-aging” and “cancer protection”.
• Alcohol and tobacco products, including cigarettes, e-cigarettes, e-hookahs, or other vaping products.
• Weapons, including firearms, firearm parts, knives, or explosives.
• Live animals or animal parts.
• Stolen or counterfeit goods.
• Pornographic or adult-oriented services.
• Any item that contains a computer virus, malware, or spyware.
• Any unauthorized or copyrighted copies include, but are not limited to, backup, pirated, duplicated, or bootlegged copies.
• Likes and followers on any platform, e.g., Twitter, Twitch, or Instagram.

Digital Codes or Accounts

Most original digital and unused codes can be listed on Gameflip. However, the following listings are prohibited:

• Selling beta codes, beta software, test software, and evaluation software. These are pre-released copies of software distributed by software developers strictly for evaluation and troubleshooting.
• Selling redeemed, invalid, or used codes.
• Selling codes or products that require the buyer to provide the seller with account access or other sensitive information.
• Selling codes that require the buyer to redeem through the use of a VPN (virtual private network) or other spoofing software or techniques.
• Selling codes that require activation in person, such as gift cards that need to be redeemed in restaurants, retail stores, theaters, and shows. Please read "Can I Sell Non-Gaming Gift Cards on Gameflip?" for more information on non-gaming gift cards allowed in our marketplace.
• Selling gift card links that will result.
• Selling pre-order codes.
• Selling accounts for services, social media sites, streaming services, and platforms not related to a game.
• Selling access or seats to shared or family accounts of any kind.

Virtual Currency / Cryptocurrency

• Selling any premium virtual currencies that are exclusively purchased from game publishers and developers.
• Selling cryptocurrency, gift cards, or gift codes that redeem cryptocurrency. Cryptocurrency includes, but is not limited to, Bitcoin, Ether, USDC, USDT, etc.

Other prohibited listings

• Any listings that somehow encompass practices like duping, glitching, hacking, or modding.
• Randomized, misleading, or "purposefully unclear" listings that do not identify or describe the exact item(s) being sold. Any description of "Random", "Chance", "Lottery", or any kind of probability of items received is considered a randomized listing. Listings under the guise of "Custom Order" will be prohibited if they do not have a detailed description of what is being sold, at the risk of being removed.
• Any form of advertisement.

Prohibited Conduct

• Disclose personal information, such as a username to another platform or phone number for buyers to contact sellers outside of Gameflip. You can also learn more here.
• Spamming is forbidden and will be considered a violation of our Terms of Use. Gameflip considers spamming: in-game item listings that are published less than a few minutes apart and re-listed within 24 hours.
