1. Disclaimer: Guidance on ERC-20 Wallet Use
This document provides instructions for using an ERC-20 wallet as a convenience to you. It's crucial that you conduct your own research and not solely depend on the information we provide. We do not guarantee the completeness or accuracy of this material, nor do we assure the reliability or functionality of MyEtherWallet (or any related software or services). Therefore, you bear all risks associated with using MyEtherWallet or any ERC-20 wallet.
2. Essential Preparations for FLP Transactions
To manage FLP transactions outside of Gameflip, ensure you have:
- An ERC-20 compatible Ethereum wallet. Transactions involving FLP must occur through your personal Ethereum wallet that supports ERC-20 tokens, not directly from exchanges like Coinbase or Kraken.
- Sufficient Ethereum to cover gas fees for transactions on the Ethereum network. Note: Gas fees for withdrawals from Gameflip are covered by Gameflip.
Recommended wallets include MyEtherWallet (MEW), Metamask, Parity, Mist, and imToken for mobile users. Metamask and MEW are among the more popular options, with Metamask offering a convenient browser plugin.
3. Setting Up a New MEW Account
If you do not have a MyEtherWallet account, follow the instructions below to set one up. If you already possess an account, proceed to the section titled 4. Using Existing MEW Account.
Step 1: Go to https://www.myetherwallet.com
Go to the MyEtherWallet website at https://www.myetherwallet.com. If you’re using Chrome or Firefox, you should see a green lock in the address bar displaying MYETHERWALLET LLC (US) identity.
Step 2: Go to the “New Wallet” Tab
Step 3: Create a Strong Password
Create a password that will be used to access your wallet:
- Create a strong password that contains upper and lower-case letters, numbers, and symbols (i.e., “#”, “@”, etc.).
- Keep your password safe. Losing this password will result in losing all of your ETH and FLIP stored in your account. We recommend using a password manager such as KeePass or a similarly trusted application to help you securely manage your passwords.
- Click on the “Create New Wallet” button.
Step 4: Save Your Keystore File
Download and save the Keystore file. This file contains your private and public keys and is required every time you want to access your account. Please note that you won’t be able to access your account without this file and the password from the previous step. Losing either one of them would result in losing all ETH and FLIP stored in your account.
Step 5 (Optional): Backup Your Private Key
If you would like to make this account accessible by other Ethereum wallets, you can export and backup your private key. You must securely store your private key and should never share it with anyone. Whoever can obtain your private key will have access to all of your ETH and FLIP.
4. Using Existing MEW Account
Step 1: Go to https://www.myetherwallet.com and to the “View Wallet Info” Tab
Go to the MyEtherWallet website at https://www.myetherwallet.com. If you’re using Chrome or Firefox, you should see a green lock in the address bar displaying MYETHERWALLET LLC (US) identity.
Step 2: Unlock Your Wallet to Get the Public Address
Select the “Keystore File (UTC / JSON)” and the Keystore file or any alternative method you wish to connect. For this guide, we’ll be using the “Keystore File (UTC / JSON)” method.
Input your password and click on the “Unlock” button to unlock it:
Step 3: Obtain and Save the Public Address
You should see your Ethereum public address under the “Your Address” label or the “Account Address” section. You will need to provide this public address for the FLIP token sale event.
After following all steps and setting up your ERC-20 wallet, you should be able to receive FLP on your ERC-20 wallet now. In order to send FLP, you will need to add ETH to pay for gas fees.
