What is a region/server restriction?

When buying or selling codes on Gameflip, it's crucial to be aware of and disclose any region or server restrictions. Here’s a concise guide for both sellers and buyers to navigate these limitations:

For Sellers:

• Disclose Region Restrictions: It's mandatory to specify any region restrictions in the "Region / Server Restriction" section of your listing details. Failure to disclose these restrictions could lead to the buyer being eligible for a refund if they cannot redeem the item.
• Clarify in Listing: To avoid misunderstandings, we also advise mentioning the region restriction in both the listing's title and description. Reiterating any restrictions in the "Region / Server Restriction" section is essential for clear communication.

For Buyers:

• Identifying Restrictions: Listings with region restrictions feature a locked globe icon, making it easy to spot any limitations at a glance. Web users can hover over this icon to see which region the item is restricted to. A globe icon without a lock indicates no region restrictions.
  
• Checking the listing details table: below the Buy button, you will find the item's specifications and restrictions. In the following picture, you will find an example of a redemption code restricted to the United States. 
• Understanding Restrictions: A listing that specifies a region can only be redeemed and used within that specified area. Purchasing a code not valid in your region means you cannot activate or use it.
• Dispute Process: If you buy a listing that fails to mention a relevant region or server restriction, and the item is not redeemable in the assigned region, you must open a dispute so Gameflip support can evaluate the exchange and rescind it, if feasible.

Additional Notes:

• Dispute Resolution: Should a dispute over region restrictions be resolved in your favor, the code in question cannot be resold, as it technically belongs to the original party. Attempting to resell such a code may result in penalties to your account.
• Gameflip Guarantee: If you buy a code with clearly stated region restrictions in the listing, and it doesn't match your region, this purchase does not qualify for the Gameflip Guarantee, and a refund will not be possible.

Being mindful of these guidelines helps ensure a smooth transaction process, safeguarding both buyers and sellers from potential issues related to region restrictions.
